Ok.... I’m gonna show you how to get a nice abstract effect like I used on this signature here.
Ok first start of with any size image.. Im going with 420x125 , make sure its on white BG with the color mode on RBG.
Any brushes work but more cluttered full ones are best.. I am using my abstract set 11 which are for PS 7.0+ and can be found HERE
Now with your image paint your BG all black and set your foreground color to white and on the BG layer grab your brushes and put a simple white base over the black BG. I have something like this
Now lets make a new layer.. Hit ctrl+shift+N or hit layer>>new layer .. Once done hit D to make your foreground color black again. Now on the new layer color it all black.. Then once all black set its mode to soft light like this
Now your image should be like before but much darker.. Now click on your top black layer and merge it into your BG layer by hitting ctrl+E ( may have to hit it a few times.. ) Now lets duplicate the BG layer so hit layer>>duplicate layer. Now click on your top layer. Once done that hit Filter>>Blur>>Radial Blur and use these settings
Now on the top duplicated layer which you added your blur to switch its mode to lighten and merge the layers once again. Now you should have something like this
Now once again hit layer>>new layer. Now for something a little different.. Hit on your brush but then lets go into our brushes pallete above your navigator. Click it and hit brush tip shape at the very top and click on the #5 soft brush.. Both of those things are found here
Now the settings we need to use for the brush are here.
Now on your new layer with those settings set your foreground color again to white. Brush over the image with the brush but don’t overlap the little circles.. Do it sort of like this
Now duplicate the new layer with your little white circles.. On the duplicated layer hit Filter>>Blur>>Radial Blur and use the same settings as before.. It should be the same so just hit Ok. Now duplicate that layer with the blur 3 times. Once done merge all the top layers with the blur’s we just did and the first layer with the little white circles all into 1.. Make sure not to merge that into the BG though.. If so just hit Edit>> Undo merge down. Now on the layer with the blurs put its mode to Overlay just like we did before to put the background layer to lighten. Once done I have something like this
Now we are all done.. Add some color. Click on the little half black/white circle under your layers which is located here below which I circled and pointed to then hit color balance.
Pick your color and your done. Here is what I got..
Now remember also.. Using diff. Brushes and how you add your little circles while brushing will change the effect of this. Enjoy
