Hey,

I was wondering if you think I can place Adsense links on my site: Platinum Design

Anyone making money with Google ads? i have a few more sites that I want to place ads on, but I was wondering what your experiences are with such ads - thanks!

Best to all!

I know the gaming site that I'm a member of pretty much survives on Google Ads. Thats at least 100 dollars a year, plus we have money left over to buy games. We got 3 copies of BF2 to our members with Google Ad money.

I see no reason why you couldn't have ads on your site. Most anysite is accepted by them.

if you're getting less than 100 uniques per day (maybe even more) dont bother adding one unless you have some incredibly high pageview/visit

also it would look very unproffesional if you put ads on your site since you're running a business

Thanks for the advice.

Although the site is used to showcase my portfolio, I am not geining any customers by using it. In other words, if I loose a visitor to an ad that's not a problem for me, since I get my clients from other sources.

Do you recommend any other ways of getting visitors, other than submitting to directories and sending articles to ezines?

Thanks,

Michael

Search engine optimization (SEO) is very important if you want more visitors. It involves refining your website so that it shows up higher in search engine results.

Hi Michael,

I think that you Can place adsense on Platinum Design, but it looks like you sell a service for customers on the site?! Then I would recommend you that you don't place any ads at all. It looks unprofessional if you both ask for money for service/jobs and have ads. I would not take such a company serious :-)

If you have other sites, more about content now about selling a service/product I think that you should try adsense!!
I have some sites that perform pretty ok with adsense. They are all content sites..

Let me know if you have any more questions!!

I tend to disagree, which of course just goes to show that everyone has a different opinion. You have your site to make money, well google adsense will contribute to that. I don't think any serious customers will hold that against you. As for your original question, I run several ads on my websites and google is by far the best.

Well, I consider myself a serious customer any time I am shopping, and I would find adsense ads on a hosting webiste or a design website to be ridiculous. It would mean you don't have a reliable revenue model based on your services and have to rely on ad money to survive, which doesn't say much about the company.

You DEFINITELY don't want to put ads on there... A site that sells specific services as it's actual purpose for being is RARELY appropriate for network ads.
