I've got a major question involving said tutorial, I can't seem to find a way to preserve transparency when coming out've cinema4d. For instance say I wanted to do an animation of my name exploding for a signature, how would I make it transparent and show little more then the fragments of the name and such?
SHIVMOO
sorry dudes... completely forgot about this... somehow.. dont ask how sad.gif...

ok then...
"i exploded it ok tongue.gif
but how can i set some delays before it explodes and how can i save it and host it
please help "
you are probably not reading these anymore (cant blame you.. as ime pretty rubbish at helping)
dum de dum--------(do this instead of doing the animation piece)
ok then.... go to the object you want exploded.
click the object deformer(the explosion)
go to the frame you want the explosion to start on.. and then right click on the little dot thing to the right of the strenth tab(see step 3 under animating area)....MAKE SHURE IT IS ON 0...and then right click on it and select animate and add key frame..
then go to the frame you want the explosion to end on and select 100% strength and again make another keyframe..
if you want to reverse the explosion just create another keyframe after the 100% strength with a 0% and create another keyframe.
to change the amount of frames you have press ctrl+d and select a higher or lower frame to end on... default is 90 (on mine it is anyway)
there you go... you can now change when you do the explosion.
remember. key frames will need to be deleted afterwards..

to liquid- i have no found a way of doing this either. i found it was a good idea to make the text.. make shure it explodes.. then create a cube or a sheet and stick that behind it... then stick some form of material onto it. (that you want on the sig) and then render that... you can also give it the material of your sig. but that would take a while to do and i am just going to bed smile.gif

as i said before... sorry i did not reply sooner...
i believe that poeple should find things out for themselves.. and in the process of doing that they find other cool things they can do with the program.. also it breeds originaltiy as poeple dont follow a "tutor" ect....

play and have fun:) and above all... dont give up after 5 minutes.. explore the program. the worst that can happen is it crashes... (remember to save allot) as it is not likely to affect anything outside of the program smile.gif

um i dont know how you can import a gif from c4d into photoshop or save it as gif on its own, plz help the noob :/.
SHIVMOO
saving as a gif....
why not save as an avi or a quicktime movie and import it using image ready...

and dont call yourself a noob.. everyone starts somewhere.. its just a case of learning till you get it... if you put yourself down to much you will stop believing you have ability...

shall post an update to above if you want...

Nice tut man. to bad you didnt explain how to do the animation which you have in your example sig..can you explain how to make the letters move ( short ) just wanna know which tool etc you used.

also very nice sig you got there..

btw: i have a problem with the explosion. the exploding effect works but when it explodes i see all these little pieces flying but the text is also still there..lol

HI SHIMO, YOUR TUTORIAL IS VERY GOOD, I'M NOT AN EXPERT BUT I NOTE THAT EXISTS AN ERROR...

ohmy.gif

IF I PUT IN MY PROJECT, THE EXPLOSION AND AS A CHILD THE OBJET "TEXT", THIS DONT WORKS... BUT IF I PUT THE OBJET AS PARENT... THAT WORKS VERY GOOD

rolleyes.gif

ANY WAY YOUR TUTORIAL IS GRATE...

When i press autokeyframe and record which frames i want it to explode and come back. I play it and it doesnt play all the frames only something like from 30-70F not 1-90F. Is this normal?
