Just having a quick read through my CGSociety Newsletter has some neat reads in it if anyones is subscribed to it, one I found that maybe of interest:

What does it really take to remake Antarctica as a dance floor? Animal Logic took on the ice and won.

Animal Logic's crew of penguin wranglers reveal their ideas and thoughts behind the glaciers of work that made up the 'Happy Feet' feature. CGSociety visited them in their igloo at Fox Studios (Sydney) as they packed their sled.

Thats cool and probably a lot of work. It's amazing how much effort goes into making moves. Thanks for sharing Donna!

I had to wait for quite a long time before it loaded. Just be patient.

Yeah, i clicked it again and it worked, thanks decade.

It's an interesting read. When you think about it, making a movie is a lot of work, but I never gave much thought to the possiblity that an animated "children's" movie (I shouldn't really say children's, because i think i enjoyed it more and I'm a lot older than maybe the "target" audience) involved research too. Instead the producers of this movie took care to send people down to actually survey the behavior of the animals and got down to small details such as lighting. After reading it I see the movie from a new perspective than just hilarity, it's pretty admiring.

Congratulations to the people at Animal Logic, well done smile.gif I loved the movie!
