Hi there

I dont have a lot of money to give away unfortunately (you can thanks my new wife and our expensive weddding sad.gif ) but I desperately need your help.

I'm trying to get a website up for my wife's sideline business of doing party decorations and event planning.
She cannot set-up the business and leave her job, before we had a "test of the water" and see if there is any interest out there. I could generate quite a bit of traffic (as I'm quite clued up on SEO) but I have no imagination at all!

Can anyone do me a logo (high and low res) that we can use. If the site takes off, and we keep using the logo, I shall remember you and reward accordingly?

Looking for a "handWrtitten" looking logo, kinda funky and elegant (more funky) at the same time?
The website will be Kaye Occasion .. so something with a K and O bigger and the rest written... or anything you can think of?
Need to have some imagery in it as well.

Much appreciated
/d

Oh, and forgot to mention, Turqouise/blue/green colours preferred smile.gif

something like this?

Could you be a bit more specific on what your looking for?
Do you want just a "logo" or like a banner type thing?

On the right track with any of these?

(The middle one is more of a concept of a style then a version of anything)

Here's my entry.

I'm looking for something I can use for both, if that makes sense?
Some sort of image + the writing

The more I look at those, the more I like them, definitely on the right track with the first entry, and really liking the second one, going to run that past the wife.

From the horses mouth (the wife)
"I do like the one with the ribbon going through, but would need to change the ribbon colour or change the occasion part to the same font colour as KAYE"
From me : Would you be able to add some texture to the writing at all?

Again, many thanks to all of you

I'll enter in this compition before saturday night.

Here's a quick design i made. Tell me what you think about it and anything you want to see changed on it and i'll get to work on it. ( Only kept it basic so that you could spray some ideas at me so that i can change it for you )

PM me if u want any changes or wish to talk

Hi Willows

As I said, I have very little to no imagination tongue.gif so any input more from me will be detrimental to your effort! smile.gif
I asked the wife to register here and make comments herself.
But I do recognise some of those fonts from dafont.com ?
Quite like the "Christopher hand" font from there.
Would be nice to mix it with the entry from efd or something to that effect, it having a banner/flag thingy (lack of a better word) underneath it

@ efd Can you maybe stretch that a bit too, ie: same hight but more added to the length?

Anyone with some more image based ideas?
sup3rc0w
May I add, anything also goes here.
I just had the handwriting thing in mind, but a nice image logo or such like, will also be great
sup3rc0w
Sorry for the spamming guys, but I just realised I hadn't PM'd faken yet, so untill then... post your replies at your "own risk" .
Sorry I'm a newb at these forums, I'll send him a PM first to make sure it's all ok
Will0wz

This is just my first entry, and I'm probably gonna make more, I just want to know, how well this direction of style is recieved.

My apologies. When you said blue/turquoise/green colors, I assumed you wanted all three colors incorporated into the logo. Here is an updated version.

Just let me know if you need any further changes.

Whoa, liking entry # 3 and the icon there madMHUU !

I'm wondering if that will work @ 72dpi efd, the idea is great, but I dont think it will work on a website (especially the banner/ribbon thingy)

Attempt #3. I 86'ed the ribbon and went with something a little simpler and, in my opinion, a little cleaner.

@ Bug; thx biggrin.gif

@ Crazed lama, the grungy consept isnt bad, just remember that if you arent working on a enclosed banner with a fixed square border you need to have the logo/sign itself freeform with breakpoints. It should able to float on solid a color independant of what the background may look like independantly.
sup3rc0w
Wow, guys!
Logged in this morning to see all these new enties, and I'm well impressed by your efforts fo far, really is a toss up between a couple of them!
If I dont make up my mind by end of the contest, I might need to increase the reward for a runner up as well.

Again, thank you!
madMUHHH
Okay, here another entry.
I think the idea is cool, but te logo still lacks finetuning.

I'll keep this post updated. So, watch out!

Just a question, are you looking more for a calm/still type logo or a fast/dynamic looking one? I somehow got the impression you where more of a calmer party/occasion planners judgeing the color choise of mint/cyan but i realise i may have been off in that asumption.

Yes mate, you assumed correctly, however since there are some great entries here already, I might use 2 different style logo's depending on the event she will be doing.
If its a Wedding, and I do a case study on it, the logo in use will be the cool, twirly looking one.
If it's a corporate do, the one with the stripes, and if it's a Hen party/clubbing style event, then use a faster more exiting look.

I know from a brand point of view, this might be shocking, but I think I can make it work , creating an overall look (with you guy's input ofc smile.gif )

I was messing around with After Effects this weekend, and came up with this as a Mini Intro to promotional movies I'll be making.
Going to incorporate the winning logo into this video's animation.
Have a look and tell me what you guys think.

Crappy web/photobucket quality, but you get the idea.
Need to click on the preview, I dont know how to embed the player sad.gif

Haha, I know what tutorial you got that one off bigwink.gif

Looks very good though, mate!! Would you happen to have the 'Bezier Warp' with your version of AE? The thing is it didn't come with my version so I'm stuck with normal warps and what not for that tutorial.

Did an awesome job on it though! Logo's gonna look sweet added to it rolleyes.gif

This afternoon.

Sorry for the delay Gents, it's been a frenetic week at work!
sup3rc0w
First off, I would like to say thank you for your participation. There were some great entries and the decision was a hard one to make.
We ended on deciding on two entries that we would like to use, so I will send more money to faken as a result.
Specia thanks to dance to Dance and efd , you both sent over great entries that made it really hard for us, which is a good thing. But we ended up chosing the following two, as they are closer to what we invision her "look" would be

Lol, thanks guys...dang, my username is soooo old (from my stupid kid days), I'm like embarrassed by it now. I'll have to get it changed sometime....

Do you want the .PSD or whatever of the logo? Just tell me what format and where to send it and I shall do so.

Hi Simplicity

Can you please add me to MSN, I have already PM'd madMUHHH regarding the prize and the format.
I would prefer a .PSD if you can.

cheers
Harley
I'd be happy to throw together a mockup website if you wanted... maybe even code it (css/xhtml)
sup3rc0w
Thanks for the offer Harley - unfortunately I don't have the resources at the moment to pay you for a site.
