Hello and thanks for reading. I have a website link partner that is using a very cool effect on his animated button. You can see the button here:

Does anyone have an idea of how I could create somethign similar? What I'm after is the transition effect (adobe Premiere maybe?) and how to keep teh GIF background transparent.

I'd appreciate your advice!

Thanks,

Michael

Must be using some sort of mask over the two different images that are appearing. I would search for tutorials on Image Ready using masks.

i thought it was a standard flash deformation, but since i am no flash-man i think maybe put this in another part of the forum.

Thats defo made in Flash, its kinda simple really , like Jacorre said, with masks
Look up some flash masking tuts, it looks to me like its a mask made with 2 triangles fliped point to point

thats made in flash and is 100% a mask over, looks like the sides either have a bevel or a dropshadow not sure. Pretty much that x thing gets bigger once it hits and goes over the images making the illusion of it deforming.

Imagine a Chevron Arrow as a mask and as you animate it over and drag it off, make one button disappear and one appear, you create that funky effect.... right? lol it is a bit strange but pretty sweet.
