Shot this from about 15 feet away, made some slight changes in photoshop and ended up with this:

I think it needs more cropping but i didn't want to get rid of the grass in the bottom right corner.

Well, more cropping, just wondering what did the original look like? Maybe, if possible, you can do it vertical?
Anyway, it seems to me, that it is a bit out of focus?
iwz
I thought that aswell, i'm not sure if there's something abit off on my af motor. :S

Or, it may be down to the fact that i used a really low aperture from quite far away, and only focused on one of the flowers mainly.

Well, I have the same problem, that is why I use MF mode tongue.gif Specially handy with macros... tongue.gif Just try using manual focus as musch as possible, it mostly gives sharper result:P As my forensics teacher used to say: "Human must controll the machine, not be under the controll if machine"
iwz
bdw, you do realise that it is only the head of the flower that should be in focus?
iwz
oh, and bdw, it isn't a macro lens so it won't produce crystal clear close-up because:

a) it isn't a macro lens (duh tongue.gif)

shades.gif it isn't shot from a few inches away

You are using EFS 18-55:P I am using the same lens... It is not lens nor camera that takes the shot, it is the person using the camera... tongue.gif Manual focusing is helpful producing clear shots tongue.gif
And even the head of the flower is little softer than it is comfortable...tongue.gif

I was actually using a Sigma 80-200mm f 4.5-5.4 Lense bigwink.gif

I can honestly say that i am not the best manual focuser and the camera will 9/10 focus better or equally as good as me smile.gif
xXx-Treme
lol K, didn't know that. I hope you don't mind a little offtopic: How is that lens?

And hey, if you are bad in something, then get better in it! I practiced MF on piegons, it helped a lot... Anyway MF is not mandatory, but getting good with it may help you a lot in some situations, specially macroing, and night photography tongue.gif

The lens is great! Although it's only a Sigma it's great quality for the price i payed.
