Umm what does the L in HTML stand for again

You're writing out a series of characters and using a rendering program to produce a final output, which is what programming is in it's most basic form. If you would like argue the semantics between a markup language and a programming language, this isn't the thread for it. Way back when before anyone knew what the internet was we had BBS systems all coded with ASCII, and that was referred to as ASCII programming as well.

L stands for language, but HTML is not a programming language its Markup language which is used to instruct the browser to display information.

Only HTML can not be used to create any application or online or desktop program
