hmm not bad, very simple but it seems very dull. i believe this can be worked out

It is ok, but I think it should be more vivid.

I was once told that if color controls how your logo looks, then its probably not the best logo.
I think the red is overpowering right now and without it, it would be a very dull logo

Looking pretty good, you did pretty good compared to the original logo.
But I'm not sure if it's good to remake other logos, a better practice would be creating your own.
