I would like to cut a portion of an animated video and super impose it over some home movies. I want to select the character(s) only, no back ground. For example my grand daughter loves jungle book and I would like to cut out King Louie and have him move about on stills and video of her. Can anyone recommend a program that will help me with this and possibly a tutorial? Thanks in advance

The way I would do this (personally) is use Adobe After Effects to manually rotoscope (cut out, frame by frame) King Louie, then use that newly masked cutout and simply drag-and-drop it over whatever videos you want it to be on top of.

If you want to do it this way, ask, and I'll make a quick tutorial.

Good Luck!

Thanks vvtopkar,
I recently heard of rotoscopeing, but have not tried it yet. A tutorial would be great, Thank you
