I have attached an image of what i need roughly

I need a fixed width and height drop down box showing my hidden sub catagories. nothing too fancy just show them up. but has to overlap the item im hovering

also need hover overs on the rest of the navigation to show a blue background images with the rounded corners. they need to be stretchable as i have some long menu items and very short ones

would be helpful if anyone can help or point me to the tutorials needed.
also basic to advanced dropdown menu tutorials would be helpful

don't worry done it now.
used a css drive tab menu for the hover over blue bits then rehashed a css only drop down.
