I'm trying to create an lighting effect as shown in the attached image but without all the patterns - I just need the yellow to brown effect.

I intend on using the pattern against a white background so need the image to fade gradually as it disperses.

I checked the tutorials here, but all lighting effects seem to be against black backgrounds. My attempt using Photoshop CS3 resulted in a poor lighting effect (possibly due to poor colour choices and technique) and very harsh edges.

Recommendations on RGB colours to use would be great.


Any help would be greatly appreciated.
