Making On Demand Video Pre-loading Easily

You can make the movie to only show thumbnail and only starts loading when user click on it.
This is a good way to minimize bandwidth and maximize user's watching experience when you want to put more than one video on the same HTML page so that when the website is loaded, all videos will not starts loading/buffering and causes the video user is interested in watching to be dwnloaded slowly. Only the video that user click will be downloaded.


Step 1

You can start it by downloading the trial version from here

Step 2

Run Flash Video Studio.

Step 3

From menu, click on "Browse" button to select a video file. The video details (dimension, frame rate, audio frequency and channels) will appear on the upper right window section.


Step 4

Then you can "Add Video Effects", "Add Watermark and SecondarySoundtrack", etc. For this tutorial, we will on demand video with Circular Mask effect. Goto tab 2 "Effect" then change the effect into Circular Mask. The restwe use default.


Step 5

Click on tab 7 "Publish" to publish the video. The output, we use FLVfile, because on demand video just available for flv only. Change the control with "Basic Roll Up". At the playback and bufferingsettings, check at "Show thumbnail at start and only start downloadingmovie when user click". Then click on "Publish" button to convert the video.


Step 6

Congratulation! Your video is done. You can upload the HTML, SWF, FLV and JPEG snapshot files into your website.
