Remember, you need cash to make cash, but that doesn't matter for this part of the tutorial, I will show you how to set up a website, by giving you recommendations of certain hosts to chose from, if you need help on anything else after you have completed these tutorials, please feel free to email me at: [email protected] And I will do my best to help you. Thing you will learn in this tutorial:
Make sure you follow every step! EMAIL ME if you are unsure! First things first! Deciding on your site! OK first you need to think of what type of site you want, a game site, tutorial site, information or search engine? This if very important as you will need to use it cleverly in your domain name! Think of what its about, and try adding related keywords to it. For example: A gaming site gameforce gamebase gamezone A tutorial site tutorialearn tutorialzone pixelgen Get it? if not try a domain generator! (use google for that) The domain is very important, not just on the name, but on its ending! The common ending are: .com .net .org If you want it to be world wide, use one of these domains. If you want it to be local, life if you own a company in the UK it you chose: .co.uk .org.uk So it all adds, up. you got a great name, and you know what you want the URL to be (www.yoursite.com) so now what you need to do is register it! First thing to remember is that it must not already be registered! An easy way to do this is by going to that URL and seeing if it comes up with a site, or a ERROR MESSAGE saying that it cannot connect to the server etc. Now to need to buy the domain! If you wanted a free website, try google, or ask on the forum! Buying the Domain and Webspace You can chose your host but the one host I recommend is Siteground! These people have hosted my site for years and have never had any down time! And you will never find a cheaper package! So here's the little advert: Siteground :D Go on their site for details. They are the cheapest your gonna get ! OK so you go your web host all set up! Now its time to build your site, first im going to tell you about what a cms is. A CMS (content management system) is like a automated website, they are very easy and you can make advanced website out of them. Check some of these popular ones out: e107 Joomla Wordpress* *wordpress is a blogging system I cant help you any more on cms's but they have their own support on their sites!
