How to burn .bin and .cue files to CD using Nero!

After looking at the name of the title you are probably thinking that this is so easy to do and you could do it easy as piss. Your correct it is easy to do, but you would be surprised how many people actually find it hard to do this. Once you know how, its easy. So in this tutorial I am going to show you how.

For this tutorial, we are going to be using Nero. I have Nero 6, so that's what the images will be based of. However if you have newer / older versions it will be pretty much the same.

So that's enough of that, lets get started with telling you how to do it.

Step 1 - Verifying the contents

Lets make sure everything is correct, and verify the contents of the file. So lets say you have 1 .bin and 1 .cue file. For step one, we are going to be using the .cue and not the .bin! So to verify the contents of the files, open the .cue file. To open the .cue file, use a program such as notepad. Now you have the file open, the contents should look something like:
FILE "image.bin" BINARY
  TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
    INDEX 01 00:00:00
Now does yours look something like that? If so everything is going well so far. If not, something is wrong.

Do not put the full file path into the .cue file, just the file name. The 2 files should be in the same directory as well.

Is everything correct? Move onto step 2!

Step 2 - Loading the image file

Okay, so assuming you have Nero Burning Rom open...

  • Select, File.. Open
  •
  • Select from the bottom dropdown, All Files (*.*)
  •
  • Now open the .cue file from your computer

Step 3 - Burning the image onto disc

So now you have the file open, select the speed.

For Write Method, select Disc-At-Once

One final thing to do.. Hit the Burn button!

That's it! Any problems come and post for help on Pixel2Life Forum
