Overview
Welcome to the internet's largest tutorial indexing service catering to graphic designers, webmasters and programmers! Our tutorial indexing service and search engine is completely free to use, and completely free for Webmasters to submit their sites. The goal of this indexing service is to provide an easy to use website for visitors looking to improve their design or programming skills, or look for new ideas to help them develop their skills. Our index is also a superb method of generating traffic and exposure to websites all accross the world.
Our users can browse the site or look for specific keywords with an advanced Boolean search combined with our unique sorting tools.
How do I search the database for tutorials?
No matter where you are on the site, you can quickly search for a tutorial using the search bar located just beneath our logo at the top of the page. You can search the entire index, or narrow it down by category. We use Boolean technology for our search, which we feel generates to most efficient search results and enables you to find tutorials faster than ever. What is Boolean?
If you've ever used Google to search for something on the net, then you've used Boolean search! Boolean has various sets of variables you can use to find certain keywords in defined patterns should you choose to use the variables. You can find a complete list of all the variables and Boolean commands in our Help / FAQ Section!
How does the submission work?
Webmasters can submit their tutorials using our submission process located at http://www.pixel2life.com/submit/. This allows a webmaster to easily submit a single or multiple tutorials to our index in just a few minutes, including the avatar images!
Once a tutorial has been submitted to our index, it goes into an approval queue and will be manually verified by our staff. It takes anywhere from 2 days to a week for your tutorial to be reviewed and approved. A webmaster can easily open their webmaster source site page (Read this section of the FAQ on how to locate and use your Source Site page) to see how many tutorials they currently have in the approval queue.
After the tutorial has been approved, the system automatically moves it to the posting queue. The posting queue ensures that every tutorial approved to the index is given at least 5 hours of exposure on the front page of the site, by automatically posting a new tutorial every 30 minutes. Normally an approved tutorial that is sitting in the posting queue will go live within the next 24 hours.
What about adding new categories?
We're always looking to improve the index by adding tutorials that our visitors want to see, and that goes for new categories as well! If you think you've got a category that should be on here, we want you to let us know! Just drop us a line from the contact page.
How does the Rating and Comment System work?
The rating system is very simple. We allow members to rate tutorials as they see fit, as well as comment on them. Our rating system is based on a maximum score of 5 stars for the highest possible ranking, and 1 star for the lowest. You must be a registered member and logged in to leave comments and/or to rate tutorials.
