Welcome, in this tutorial I will show you how to make Black Metal Text. Here is the final result:


Start up Photoshop and make a new document. The size I choose was 500×300pixels.

What you need to do before this is find a font that will suite this, a font like “Dementia Demo” is perfect.

Now add what you want your text to say, then right click the text layer and go to Blending Options.

Then apply the following.

Drop Shadow

Inner Shadow

Bevel and Emboss

Gradient Overlay

Now make a new layer on top of the text layer.

Look for a blood brush pack. You can find them all over the Internet.

Once you have one selected hold Ctrl and click on the text layer. Then select the other layer and start brushing some blood onto it like so.

Now right click that layer and add the following
Bevel and Emboss

Color Overlay

And that’s it.
