Preview:

Spotlight Special Effect.








Step one:

Start with a large #420000 colored canvas, in your layers window make a new layer set and name it Spotlight Special Effect. Choose your rounded rectangle tool with a 20 px radius, in a new layer draw a 40 x 23 pixels, white rounded rectangle. Then go to Edit > Transform > Rotate as shown below.




Step two:

With your step one layer add the following layer styles:












Step three:

Create a new layer and draw a 137 x 77 pixels, black rounded rectangle.




Step four:

With your step three layer add a stroke layer style:












Step five:

Now add some white light using your brush tool and some erasing, grab the psd here.




Step six:

In a new layer draw a 20 x 20 pixels, white circle as shown below.




Step seven:

With your step six layer, set the layers blending mode to darken and add a gradient overlay layer style:







Step eight:

Choose your text tool and select font Eras Bold ITC from the font list. Set the size to 48 pt, crisp and white for color. In a new text layer type your name and position it by the light effect.




Step nine:

With your step eight text layer, set the blending mode to darken and add the following layer styles:













Final:

Spotlight Special Effect.
