Lines Tutorial

Another tutorial.. Simple and fast..

STEP 1= open a new document 1000 px / 1000 px and fill it with black

STEP 2= create a new layer (put it in the top) and fill it with white

STEP 3= go to filter >> render >> fibers and apply the following settings

STEP 4= go to filter >> blur >> motion blur and apply the following settings

STEP 5= apply a gradient overlay layer style with the following settings (remember to set the effect to overlay like shown in the box)

STEP 6= convert the layer to a Smart Object and duplicate the layer; set the layer to Overlay and go to filter >> other >> high pass and apply a radius of 10 pixels

STEP 6= set the black background layer as invisible and merge visible (shift+ctrl+E); than resize the merged layer as shown in the picture

STEP 7= free transform the merged layer rotating it of 45 degree and stretching it to the corners

STEP 8= go to image >> adjustments >> levels and apply this settings

FINISH= apply any effects you want to personalize your image

This made me fall back in love with Photoshop!
I’ve been using PhotoImpact (mostly) for the little things and Photoshop only when I have to. But having done this, I’m hungry for more. It is true what they say: There is noth you can’t do with Photoshop!

I wonder if it is just a coincidence that PSDTuts.com published the same type of tutorial on the SAME DAY as you. Too bad theres was much better. Maybe you should come up with your own work instead of stealing the ideas of others, you hack. Quit polluting the internet with this stolen tripe.

You should check on psdtuts.. I said there on a comment that i was creating a very similar effect at the same time.. I’m not this good to create an effect and make the tutorial in one day.. It’s a pure coincidence but i don’t care if you believe it or not.. I wont remove your comment because I’ve nothing to hide.. If you don’t like it just don’t come here..

Cool! I’ve also had a technique that has a similar result to this. But because my photoshop didn’t have fibers, i used mezzotint instead. I’ve written a tutorial on it on psdtuts. Sorry if this seems like advertisements. I think it’s interesting to see others doing the same thing with a different method

but how to do that ? Plus how come my high pass filter doesn’t show much line compare to yours ? i am using CS2

Great

But i have replace (Merge Layer) for make dinamyc Object with two raimbow layers, and i create on the top a adjustment layer (Level).
