Tutorial goal:
This tutorial will cover how to make the Northern lights or some other light thing in Photoshop CS2.

step 1
Select a green color (it will end up white in the end and then back to green, so you can start off with white, I wanted to show you how it would look in the end) for your foreground and black for your background and make a radial gradient.

step 2
Open up liquefy and smudge it around to make something like the picture below. Then press "Ok".

Get out the smudge tool and just go to town. Use a small brush and smudge it up and down like so:

Get out a bigger smudge tool. Do the same thing.

step 5
On your keyboard, press command/control + U to make it black and white (skip this step if you started with white). Press command/control + L to open levels. Make it very white and have a lot of contrast by dragging the triangles to the left.
