Troubleshooting Windows 8

How to Fix Windows 8 Store Not Working

Method 1: Microsoft Store Diagnostic Program

  1. Start the downloaded file and click on Next
  2. Follow the instructions given by the tool.
  3. After running the tool succesfully, check whether the store works.

Method 2: Run WSReset.exe

  1. Open Modern UI (Start)
  2. Typ Wsreset.exe

  • Hit enter
  • The Windows Store will open and flash a couple of times.
  • The Windows Store should now automatically appear and after a few moments if it does not, then try to start it manually.

Method 3 and 4 can be found on the Next page of this article.

I have a problem. This code actually helped very well, thank you very much!
I could not open my store and now I can. However, once I download and try
to open apps, I receive the following error message: “This app can’t open.
Check the Windows Store for more info about [app title] by [publisher]”

None of the apps I have previously downloaded and or just downloaded will
open. Are there any trouble shooting tips for this?

Ok so here’s what happened with me 😛 I have 2 drives. SSD and HDD. Moved
all appdata folders to HDD, deleted from ssd where OS is. Theres a package
in the packages folder called winstore. Copy and paste that whole folder
to the old drive again in the old location, and then do the steps in this
vid. Now everything should work again 😀

  • Adalberto Montalvo January 21, 2015

  • Joseph DelGaudio January 11, 2015

I tried it after correcting xm-1 to xml, it processed and I got the command
prompt, but Store still does not work. I have no clue where to go from
here – I don’t want to go to recovery with all the reinstall issues and I
am afraid that the problem would not be fixed anyway.

I can get on the admin command prompt and the command works when I copy and
paste it, BUT it never progresses. It stays the way yours is at 1:28. I am
utterly stuck and would like some help. I just bought a new laptop with 8.1
and the app store won’t work. If anyone has a solution, I would appreciate
    it!
