Creating Guitar Paint This tutorial will show you how to create realistic guitar paint.
We’re Going To Start Out With A General Shape.
1. Create Outer Shape
a. Create Inner Shadow (What This Does Is It Gives It A 3d Effect)
2. Create Inner Shape a. Create Inner Shadow(This Is To Fade The Out Shape In With The Inner Shape) b. Create Drop Shadow(This Also Helps With The Fade)
3. Highlight The Outer Shape And Go To “Edit – Copy Merged” Then Paste.
a. Go To “Filter > Stylize > Glowing Edges” (These Are Base Settings, Use What You Want)
i. Edge Width = 2
ii. Edge Brightness = 6
iii. Smoothness = 5
b. Change The Layer’s Blending To “Overlay” And The Opacity To “67.” (What This Does Is It Gives A Nice Outline Of The Top Bevel On Your Figure)
Next We’ll Work On The Highlights For The Paint.
4. Make A Duplicate Of The Layer From “STEP 3” And Set The Opacity Back To 100% And The Blending To “NORMAL.”
a. Go To “Filter > Sketch > Chrome” (Again, These Are Just Base Settings, Nothing Is Written In Stone). i. Detail = 7 ii. Smoothness = 10
b. Go To “Filter > Stylize > Diffuse” And Choose The Anisotropic Setting. (This Just Smoothes Over Any Jagged Edges That The Chrome Filter May Have Left For You). c. Change The Layer’s Blending To “Soft Light”
If You Want More Of A Reflection, You Can Do A “Copy-Merged” Again And “Paste” And Do Another Chrome Step, This Time Lower The Detail. Change The Blending Mode To “Hard Light” And The Opacity To “19%.”
