Website Developement - Does it have a future on the PlayStation Portable?

We have seen many new, fun and interactive ways to extend the web developement sector. Mobile Phones, Games and now Video Consoles. But how could having a website which works on a console such as an Xbox really help? Would it not be exactly the same as viewing the website on the computer? Yes, it would. But the Playstation Portable (Now PSP) is different. Why, you may wonder? Well, the main reason would be Information, information accessible anywhere.

Take a site such as wikipedia. Having a compatible version with your PSP would be great! Why? Because of the quick access to information.  The computer or the internet even was built for this purpose, but you cant really carry a computer about unless it's a laptop which is still reasonably large and heavy. Now let's take a site such as Pixel2Life. You could have tutorial open which could help you with whatever you are constructing without having to stop constructing. you would simply use your PSP and get things done quicker. Now let's get to the point of this discussion: Is it Useful?

Well, in this debate we will be looking at the good and bad sides of Website developement on the PSP.

-------------------------------------------

1(Good). Information Anywhere:
Nowadays everyone wants information anywhere fast and efficient. The PSP takes this to the next level. You can visit websites which contain alot of information from anywhere (within reason). Recently i have been testing out the browser and i have noticed a few sites who already have PSP-Compatible versions of their websites up and running. It's also useful whilst doing homework or any other project which could require information which is obtainable by using the internet. You turn on your PSP and go to a site like Wikipedia and gather up the information. The only downside about this is: Compatibility.

1(Bad). Compatibility:
It's good being able to get information anywhere (within reason) but it's useless if the website is so hard to navigate it's just not worth it. If i went on to Pixel2Life with my PSP the whole website will be out of shape and will be so hard to navigate it would not be worth it. Making your website PSP-Compatible is a hard thing to do and requires some good coders. Recently 'David Harper' released an ultimate gamers pack plugin for wordpress which makes your website compatible with a: PSP, Nintendo Wii , Nintendo DS/ DS Lite and iPhone! Definately worth checking out

I do agree that there are some really big downsides with this such as making sure all your code functions properly on the PSP. But if you tihnk about it, this could make any website so much better and could allow for some great new features and ideas to be put into practice. With people like David Harper continuing to expand the scene with modifications, who knows where the web developement scene could be on the PSP in a few years.  When new things come out, you can expect me to be reporting
