Globe For interface

by Cengx1

2. Select the selection tool and set it to elipse, Once that is done draw a circle in the center for your image it doesnt matter if it isnt in the middle. Now go to Selections>>Save to alpha channel, give it an appropriate name and save you will need to load this later.

3. Next we need to select the flood fill tool, you must also select gradient in the styles palete then select the Blue jewl gradient and fill the selected circle.

We now need to give our globe an 3d effect and we do this by going to Effects>>Geometric effects>>wind, set the strength to 6 and the direction as from left. Next  we need to add a blur Effects>>Blur>>Gaussian blur and set the radius to 4. we also need to give the globe a reflective shine and to do this we will have to use the illumination tool Effects>>Illumination effects>>Sun burst and set all the levels to the ones shown in the opposite picture.

This is what you should have so far.(or very similar)

We also need to give the globe a reflective shine and to do this we will have to use the illumination tool Effects>>Illumination effects>>Sun burst and set all the levels to the ones shown in the below pic picture.

Once The sunburst effect has been added your image will look like this.

4.We now need to create a new raster layer (Layers>>New Raster layer). now you need to select the selection tool again but this time set it to rectangle and select around your circle, dont worry about getting the circle in the center as this doesnt really matter. now you need to select the flood fill tool and change it form gradient to solid colour again and set it to white, you must fill in your new rectangle selection once done it should look like this.
5.For this next step we need to add a weave pattern to our newly filled selection Effects>>Texture effects>>Weave set your variables to 4 for the gap size, 1 for the width, white for the weave color and black for the gap color and make sure the fill gaps box it checked once you click on ok the effect should be automaticaly added to your selection.
6. Next go to Effects>>Geometric effects>> circle, this should wrap the weave pattern into a circle like in the picture below. next go to Selections>>Invert and then hit delete. now we need to go to the layers palette and set the opacity of weave to 9 using the slider this will allow your blue globe to show through. now go to Selection>>Load form alpha channel and load your selection. no go to Edit and copy merged.

The finished image should look something like this.
