Hey
I took some of the feedback given and have improved what i think is lots on the layout of the site.
http://www.lostphotograph.co.uk
The only thing i am not fully happy with is the watermarking and cropping scripts. But i am working on those to try and fix little problems.
When i have finished the back-end CMS i am making i am going to start the full advertising, but for now i am just using google ad-sense and using that article Faken showed us to try and make it fit in.
Be honest with some of the feedback please
Thanks
Matt

Only thing I don't like is the navigation text, the rest is pretty nice looking.

As coolaid said, the grey and red don't fit together that great, but I like the red color you've used. Maybe you could try to make the grey a bit more red?
Under the main content, the newsbox and the adbox are by my taste too far away from each other. They should have the same distance to each other as the boxes and the main content.
Else than that, I think it's nice, I like the colors, I like the simple background, and I like the simplicity to it, without a lot of ugly photoshop filters and such.

I agree with grey and red and the adbox's colours doesn't fit with the rest of the colours. Make it fit into the site more. Maybe don't make an entire box for it?
That's all things which could use improvement I think. I like the simplicity too and well the rest I like.

thanks for the feedback on the site
i've added in the logo to the pages so thats one bit out of the way.
I had some good feedback in turns of colour used from the old design, and not changed the colours, i've tried playing around with some of the other colours and imo they dont work aswell.
but keep it comming!
