I'd much rather see it coded and see a demo rather than just a picture.. anyone can paint a pretty picture.

Ah ok... I don't do that because it takes me foreva to slice and code layouts. So i work out whats wrongs with it then try and improve it. Then i slice and code it, to see my draft and if theres things i need to fix up i do the process all ova again. Its very lengthy i think.

its good. But to play at the top for me, your banner has great detail, but the top is just plain? Add some more to it.

Ehh,
It's a bit eye catching. However, when did you make " pink " grass ? Looks kinda unrealistic .

i dont think that the idea here is realistic or not. I just think the pink really doesnt fit there

Decent, looks like it was almost 100% followed with a tutorial though. That's no fun - it's better to come up with stuff yourself.

Also ZenGraphics.. Tutorials are good to follow.. Nothing wrong with taking a lesson or 2 every now and then

Not really, what on earth made you come to that conclusion?
A portfolio is a personal site, theres tutorials on how to make portfolio layouts.. I can link you up to at least 5 and thats just on the P2L Tutorial Database
I'm aware of what tutorials are on p2l. What i am saying is that, basically saying "yeah that looks good" is like saying to the original author of the tutorial that it looks good. Personally, I think it isn't great because it looks liek it was taken from a tutorial. What's better? drawing somthing free hand or tracing it?.. it's basically the same thing in my eyes. you're opinion was asked about the site layout.. not about what I said.
