computers will be too tedious and boring, and mostly produce the same result

a stadium sounds cool but again very tedious

I like the idea of doing a futuristic item, as that turned out good results for bongo.

Bongo's right when he said keep it simple, its the idea and concept rather then modelling skills that should be abig factor when judging contests.

Over at swiftdev, when we had a speed modelling competion the theme was open to interpretation, for example the subject could be 'speed'. That opens the flood gates to loads of ideas. Or even 'the elements' etc

But the main thing you have do is finish the last competition properly, it feels like a conyer belt. Lets end the last one with mutual backslapping saying how great the winner is ;)

Why not have a competition to design an award that the winner gets, then they could display it on there own site.

Why not? ;)

The problem is, only way to end a poll is by closing the thread. So ppl don't get to praise/congratulate the winner after the poll ends

I think we can start doing something like what you mentioned - a theme that is open to interpretation - so that people can come up with their own ideas.

Its a really good start, but they remind me of kettles :)

Try thinning the neck of it and curving it some more.

Do that as the next comp... (comp no.9) "logo for 3D comp winners"

I think maybe something less obvious than a trophy maybe in order *no offence Avalanche - groovy materials btw*

the only provision would be the inclusion of the P2L brand....

Like the Mooster said, we did it this way over at Swiftdev and it worked a treat! :)

If everyone agrees, we can have that (designing a "logo" for the winners) as the next compo ( no need to setup a discussion thread :D ) after the compo 8 is done with. Probably a 1 week challenge :)

i think the 3d compo winners should be rewarded with a 3d award, and the upcoming photoshop vector an manipulation winners awarded with a 2d ps award

I really do think you should finish a comp before you start thinking about new ones. There's no need to rush these things.

Announce the next one after the current one finishes, it's definitely feels like its turning into a bit of a conveyor belt....
