My take on it:

Number one, who the FUCK needs 6Ghz?

2, I doubt your going to use all that power...the juice isnt worth the squeeze.

3, AMDs dont need high speed clocks, they have shorter pipelines

4, For gaming...CPUs arent much of a factor anymore. I have an AMD Athlon 1.2 Ghz CPU but a PNY GF 5200 ultra fx and i can crank 70-80 fps on full settings at 1280 x 1024.

5, Its overclocked...i never trust anything that voids my warrenty :D

6, Dual Xeons were made for the same thing

6Ghz. Wow, that's real amazing. I guess you're right that no one's gonna need that much in this day and age.

Intel has already thrown in the towel on faster CPU's earlier this month. They released a statement that the speed wars was over for them and they were going towards better I/O instead of more clock cycles, which makes more since. As FS pointed out that's what AMD has been doing for years and why thier CPUs run as fast as Intel chips even though they run at slower speeds. And yes the graphics card makes the difference. I have a simple amd 2500XP barton chip but with the monsterous ATI radeon9800 Pro card and it handles doom3 like a champ.

You would lag because you're harddrive can't spin or transfer fast enough to keep up with all of that. If you had RAID 0 running on 5 SCSI hard drives each housing a different application that was running...maybe you could do it. Somebody wanna test that out :)

Or 4GB of RAM. Then that would be extremely crazy with a 6 Ghz 4GB of RAM, and, if you can, an ATI x800 XT.

it doesnt really matter if the computer carnt take the extra speed ur screwed...but your right in a way FS to the average user 6Ghz is a waste but for people who multi task and run program that require alot of power or even places like nasa ect they need it! also super computer :)
