Just wondering...
Usually on my sigs i have 15 layers.... 20 max, 10 min.

Well this is hard to say because every signature i create it different.

I would have to say that it really depends on the complexity of the signature and how much time i spend on it.

But i can asure you that i spend more that 10 mins

I'd say about 15 for my present one.

But I mean it could go to 30+ .. for example if I would create a character for my sig plus details and what not ... easy 30

30+ layers is easy to surpass. Especially if you're repeating something. One of my sigs had probably 150+ layers. I made an underwater scene which had a ton of bubbles, and each bubble had it's own layer.

But like aeiko said, it really just depends on what sig it is. Some will only use 5 layers, some will use hundreds. On average for me it's about, 20-25 I'd say.

I merge duped stuff...
Usually beginner sig makers will hve 5 layers....
BG + RENDER + BORDER + SCAN / GRID LINES + TEXT
^^ better sig makers will have all their lil techiques and extra's in there... ^^

At the end I have one layer, cause i flatten all of them, but usually 8-15 layers

Between 15-30 layers, depends on the sig and on the style used

I'd say Tech or grunge sigs use the most.

I am usually between 10 and 20...I'll have to make some and post them, see how much you guys hate them

At least 10 but I get the best with around 31...
