Hello.

I am in need of some constructive comments and criticism to a simplistic beginners portfolio. I haven't added much to the portfolio just yet; but I have got some more things to add to it.

I am only merely a beginner in Website Design so I am still on a learning basis.

Nice job for a beginner. Few things...

The font on the banner doesn't flow with the rest of the banner. Make it smoother.

I would either align the text at the left or add a bit more padding. Your entry for 4/11 goes clear to the edge.

Yeah, good for a begginer.
But I agree about the header's font. Also, I'm not sure about the red color you've used for hover in links. Maybe a dark blue would fit more. Nice website though, simple, but nice.

First off, I want to say it is a good job as a beginner.

Secondly, the pixel text on the header is booth too small and it stands out too much. Use a larger text which is not a pixel font and make it go with the header. I would also as PSGirl suggest use another colour for the hover links.

Otherwise I think it is presented nicely but I would suggest padding and making the text left aligned instead of center aligned, myself I think it is easier to read it that way.

Good luck with the site, it is simple but very nice.

Hey,

Thanks for the comments; I have started designing a new banner thats not just a load of abstract brushing but has a custom made logo with some decent text. I will also be coding a PHP content management system for the homepage so it will be padded.

The layout is good. Graphic wise I'm a little confused. I'm not to sure whether the banner goes to well with the colour you have used for the links and copyright bar. Use the colour picker in photoshop and pick a shade of blue off the banner and try that, just so it all comes together better.

I would also add a seperator, like a horizontal rule in between your news posts, to break the content up.

Thanks for the reviews everyone and I have actually designed one more banner but not a new navigation bar or colour scheme so what do you think of this?

Also I added padding and aligned it all left like suggested.

Great Site,
Just i don't like the Yellow with the white i think black wuld be nice also, the Banner is a major issue that needs sorting out and also the reflection on the banner is not nice, So everything else is basically good except the Banner I think it needs a little bit more effort put in to it.

I like it, banner and everything. The only problem I have with it is the fact that's it all basically the same color. Try experimenting with a few different color options, a website should always be at least two different colors. Other than that one little thing it's a good site.
