I am designing a website for a glasses company, I do not yet know the company name but heres is the layout. Have a look and please give me your feedback, both good and bad.

There are 2 slightly different versions, I am leaning towards the first one.

First Version
Second Version

Looking good, certainly practicle. Its nice to see alternative text based navigation rather than having to rollover the links on the right to find out which page they go to.

I prefer the first one also.

Maybe you should make the menu more obvious to people who need glasses, eh.

When I read the title I was wondering if the text in the site would actually be bigger than 8pt. I'm glad to see it was. I prefer the first site as well, the glasses seem better in one shade to me. Only thing is, the title font is slightly too basic-looking in my opinion.

I'd make the menu a bit more obvious. It's real nice though. The text looks pixely though.

the one with the glasses on white completely looks better to me.

and if i were designing the layout, i'd remove the whole pop-out effect int he menu.

Thanks for the comments and feedback so far.

So as far as making the navigation more obvious, would you guys suggest actually writing "Navigation" or "Menu" or something of that sort on the right side?

BaseballHeadDan, when you say the text is pixely, which text are you referring to?

And coolaid, I also have a non flash version where all the tabs are already out, I will ask the company what they prefer.

Thanks for the comments/suggestions guys, keep them coming.

(I will be away for 2 weeks starting on April 23rd so I won't be able to reply to this thread or check it during that time)

Don't use flash on menus, as people, who don't have Flash player would not see it..

(i'm back from my trip)
from the comments i got, i think i'll add something to make the menu tabs for evident.

yes, I realised that, which is why I have the simple hyperlink navigation at the bottom for those who cant see the flash.

again, thanks for the replies/comments/suggestions guys.

I'm of two minds lol, i think the glasses look better in the first version, but i rather the way the header glasses and the glasses in the second version aren't facing the same direction, the contrast of their forms looks better. I'd also have more white space, have more of a dip to the red on the center to bottom left. Looks to be overpowering the white at the moment rather than coinciding. Know what i mean ?

Don't know if thats going to help you any bit. But fantastic design :) .
