im creating a web browser and learning VB but i need to know how to make the back and forward buttons not be available when theres nothing to goto and i also need to know how to make new window links open a new page in the browser instead of opening internet explorer so if anyone can help i wud be most grateful

Well on the first q, Command1.enabled = false. That will disable Command1 and grey it out. just reverse it with true to make it usable again. and not sure on the second one i never messed with browsers in vb sorry :google:

p.s. if you are using shdocvw.dll (Webbrowser1) it opened a link in a seperate window in my vb with default options, maybe i misunderstood the question.

Normally, there's a sample Web Browser project where you can see how the web broswer component works... or you can always download some examples from VB code samples websites...
