I cant say exactly the steps this artist takes to make his art, my guess is that he starts of with first choosing to vectorise the object of focus, in many cases one or more photos as he wants it (alternativly concludes a large bitmap image of focus). Then moves over into the making and or integration between object and background making out all shapes and lines with vectors. Then making layers of vareous blendingmodes and opacitys to apply the grungy effect and the patterns covering the vectors, grungeing edges using custom brushes on rastisized vectormasks and perfecting the image.

what are some similar brushes though? That is a tequnice that requires more then just filtering, its a blend or cuttogether of Vectors, photos and brushing. It requires some good skill and isnt made nor perfected in 10 minutes. Also breaking it down id sugiest you play with blendingmodes, patterns, the function called "threshold", vectors and alphachanels.

no need to try to insult meits not that simple. you cant just ask "what are some silimair brushes"... its too hard, he probably didnt even use brushes. and dont expect to take on a project that big cause you probably won't be able to create it.

Anytime you try to make a picture resemble something, another picture in this case, you have to know what oyu are doing. You must be able to look at the image and see the steps you need to take to give your image the same feel. There are many ways to do this. And getting on a website and requesting brushes is not the way. I bet you didn't read half of that tutorial Aussiestinger looked up for you. And if you did, you obviously didn't understand it. If so, you need to slow down. You have to crawl before you can walk.
You can't brush your way through all your photoshop projects. It just doesn't work that way. And how you've posted, atleast in my opinion, is not the way to make a good impression on your fellow forum members.

i could've explained WHY you probably wouldn't be able to do it, which is probably why you took insult to it, but sometimes i just dont feel its really needed.
if i had explained why, it would've looked like m2b's post.

This guy definately has some talent, no doubt about it.
There's so many people who are technical with photoshop, and those few who are truly artistic and rise above the rest.
Thanks for tipping me off about one of the high flyers.
