Decisions decisions... v3 layout change coming up.

So here's the deal... The general consensus on the v3 release is that people LOVE the speed and features of v3, but prefer the v2 layout and colors. So, I've decided to port the v2 layout and update it to the v3 back-end and release it. I also have other reasons for doing this, so I hope everyone enjoys the merging of what seems to be the strong points of the previous version and this new one.
So please just bear with us while we try to get all this settled... I haven't been sleeping too great and I'm a pack of nerves because the ad conversion is a complete cluster f***.
So that's about it... sorry to be short and quick on this, I have to get back to working on this.
Once again, thanks to everyone that sent in logos or posted them! Stay tuned for the contest winner coming up in a few days. PM me if you have any concerns.
Thanks,
Dan

and I don't see why to don't use the winner's logo on the new color scheme for v3.1 or whatever it calls

I hope not :[
I like this site just the way it is; what parts of the layout are you changing?

hmm, this one is FAR FAR FAR better than the v2... but the color change would be a nice ideia
and I don't see why to don't use the winner's logo on the new color scheme for v3.1 or whatever it calls
There's a good chance that we'll restart the contest with the update Many, if not all the logos submitted can easily be changed. It's just a matter of changing the green bg to blue.

But this layout is pretty amazing. The other one was like "it's cool, yeah" but this one blows me away. But whatever the people want, right?

I like the v.3 design, but also enjoyed the nice color combination in v.2. Either way its all good....just sucks you have to re-work everything.

I am sorry to hear people feel that way Dan. Good luck.
Suggestion: Why not allow 2 versions? CSS color change. Add it to the user doc and allow people to choose between v3 color and v2 color.

Also heres another thing you should work on:
1. Error Line 231 column 23: there is no attribute "onClick".
<a href="#" onClick="newFilter(); return false;">close</a>
You have used the attribute named above in your document, but the document type you are using does not support that attribute for this element. This error is often caused by incorrect use of the "Strict" document type with a document that uses frames (e.g. you must use the "Transitional" document type to get the "target" attribute), or by using vendor proprietary extensions such as "marginheight" (this is usually fixed by using CSS to achieve the desired effect instead).
This error may also result if the element itself is not supported in the document type you are using, as an undefined element will have no supported attributes; in this case, see the element-undefined error message for further information.
How to fix: check the spelling and case of the element and attribute, (Remember XHTML is all lower-case) and/or check that they are both allowed in the chosen document type, and/or use CSS instead of this attribute.

2. Error Line 252 column 18: end tag for "br" omitted, but OMITTAG NO was specified.
<br clear="all">
You may have neglected to close an element, or perhaps you meant to "self-close" an element, that is, ending it with "/>" instead of ">".
✉
3. Info Line 252 column 2: start tag was here.
<br clear="all">
4. Error Line 285 column 18: end tag for "br" omitted, but OMITTAG NO was specified.
<br clear="all">

5. Info Line 285 column 2: start tag was here.
<br clear="all">
6. Error Line 293 column 16: end tag for "br" omitted, but OMITTAG NO was specified.
<br clear="all">
✉
7. Info Line 293 column 0: start tag was here.
<br clear="all">
7 errors.

Will it be possible to select between the v2 skin and the v3 skin that would be a great feature which would make everyone happy?

Haha, Who really cares, v3 loads to slow. You click on a category, Have to wait like a minute for it to all load into place.
You've got something wrong on your end on that one bud... unless you're on 14.4. I get the please wait bit the first time I load the tab that lasts a half second and then the icons load almost instantly.
The new layout will use that same system btw
Thanks for the other stuff... we never got around to fully validating the code... had quite a few other urgent things to worry about

I haven't been sleeping too great and I'm a pack of nerves because the ad conversion is a complete cluster f***.
i noticed that you have changed the way the ads are displayed back to the two column style with the ads on the left and the site content on the right, i prefered the horizontal ad up the top with the content in two sections underneath.
