lol, this must be a coincidence .. I spent all day looking for how to get forum stats on a site homepage, then give up and come to log in when I see that pixel2life actually does this and therefore will know, and hopefully be able to help. Heres a quote of what I posted on another forum and I really would appreciate being told how to do this!. :D

Hey all, the new design may have a stats box section, just for the usual, your ip, users today, users online etc, but I would love to have forum stats on there, in particular:

Number of members: 32
Number of posts: 1800
Members online: 4

Reckon itd be a great addition and in most cases makes people check out the forum, albiet the stats being nothing to boast about.

The stats are obviously formed one way and echoed onto the index page, so anyone know how I could use that code and get it to work on the homepage of site?

Well it was a real pain in the ass but Shao managed to pick apart the forum coding and figure out where to grab the stats from. What kind of forum is it? Shao can probably explain to you how we did it, but that would only apply to an Invision Power Board forum.

Its an invision board version 1.3 final.
Any chance of Shoa appearing on forum .... or if you could check the sites homepage coding and tell me how what code you used and I'll be able to adapt it use myself. Would be very much appreciated.

Shao is mysterious and only appears when he's really, absolutely needed!

I believe that if you post his name 3 times - each post exactly 1 minute apart he will come!

TRiley, you may want to check your db for the proper tables, they are well documented and labelled for easy reference. The codes are properly organized in a CLASS format. From the index.php file you should be able to follow the routine they used, especially the db connection routine and data gathering. Good luck!
