1. bevel and emboss --> inner bevel --> chisel hard, 1 r 2 pixels, down, maybe increase the % to 150 - 200 instead of 100
2. Inner shadow, 1 - 2 pixels.
That should do it i think.

kinda similar how i'd do it - or just another way - dunno if it's how u want as ur example pic wasn't the best of quality...
basically i made a light grey gradient base for the background, wrote out the nav links in #888888. think i used verdana on 11, forgot to change it... duplicated the layer and placed the new layer below the main text... changed the colour of the duped layer to white and used the move tool to nudge it 1 px to the right and 1 px down - if it's too bright just lower the opacity of the highlighted layer - then i just added some dots to copy spider lol

Could you *please* post the entire menu psd you had? I just cannot get it close using Davey's zip file
Davey, thank you and truly appreciate your effort. It just did not come as close to spade's
I attached my copy of the psd. The edit I made is "SERVICES"
If you look carefully, something about it does not fully match the other default text.
Thank you kind folks

Thats the closest i can get, with not haveing the right font, but i think the best thing to do
would be to just make the rest of the text layers your self, and then copy and paste the blending option i made on the services text, Then all your text will look same, the font i used is the default Tahoma 11pt with aa set to none
