photoshop .PSD to .AI or .EPS

i have some graphics i made in Photoshop cs, if i export them to illustrator as an .ai or .eps, will they become scallable without loosing quality?

You would have to do a trace in Illustrator for them to be scalable, simply putting them in .ai or .eps files would not make them vectors. (Correct me if I happen to be wrong) You can find many tracing tutorials around the web.

If you have used the pen tool to make vector objects within PS you can use i beleve under file<export paths to illustrator and from illustrator save em of as AI or EPS.

i didnt use the pen tool, just the shapes to make squares and buttons

By filling in marquees or using the vector shape tool/custom shape tool ?

a bit of both. i have a button with 3 circles from the shape tool and the highlights are with the marquee tool, then i have some of the custome shapes on them.

Nope they are not scalable unless they are some sort of alpha mask or something like that. You would have to retrace them in AI. If you're making buttons for the web or something like that, it's best to start in AI anyway IMO.

i made them before i got illustrator. Thanks for the information. I redid them in illustrator. didnt take long

Select them
turn selection into path
export path to Illustrator.

ahhh. thats great!!.. so if i open it in illustrator, would the be just as if i made them there?
