Ive got a mircosoft word document which is about 50 A4 pages.

Ive been having problems printing borderless and a company has told me to use illustrator or indesign.

Ive been slowly putting my word document into indesign because it the options seem to agree with what I want (facing pages and bleed).

I dragged and dropped my word document into indesign but that didnt really work I could only see some of the front cover.

Does anyone have any tips for me please? I have a word document that needs to be converted quickly so I can get it printed!!

Not able to help, just my 0.02.

Those 50 A4 pages , i suppose those are all part (read puzzle ^_^ ) of a same artwork i suppose. Meaning you want to make a (very very :D ) large poster, AM I CORRECT ?

I suppose you have checked that the printer you are using CAN print borderless, but i suppose this goes without saying.

I think Indesign (and not illustrator) is the right tool, but unfortenately iç dont use it, i've only seen it done in promotional picture long time ago, so i am sure you can get a batch import and then just start placing them in the right place and then give the order to do a borderless printing, but like i said i cant help you, very sry.

lol I dunno

I've got borders on all the pages that go to the very edge of the paper. I was told to use indesign or illustrator because they can printer all the way to the edge. These programs have a bleed option

Ough, MS Word... Shure its okay to just copy paste text from word into indesign, formating exports to. But man whatever you do, dont take pictures from within a Word document into indesign, or photoshop, or any adobe app for that matter. Word is black hole for images, you put them there and you wont be able to use them outside of word anymore. Word does something with the format of the images using some strange converter. I dont know whatit does but it messes up the images grand and makes them unuseable in other programs. Some images do make it trough though, sometimes less messed up sometimes more, iv never figured it out.

Also if you want to print with bleed to make it look good you still need a margin of 5mm if you are using a industrial printer or 3mm of you are using a print press. Then cut the paper with a paper knife to get a all the way to the edge result.

Yea, its the worst OLE around, it converts pictures of great quality into something "ms paint"-ish.

Now,
if you did like me in word, no borders and if you gave a print order with the option of 0 pts border and still ot comes out with a white outline, chances are its due to the printer.
You are sure your printer can print borderless?

ive taken it to several printing companys in town.
This one I found prints borderless and they said the way forward is using adobe indesign or illustrator.

Can someone show me how to transwer 60 pages into an adobe program please.

When I copy and pasted it didnt work and if I paste one page of text from word into adobe its like half a page in adobe :-/

Illustrator or inDesign? Id strongly recomend Indesign, illustrator isnt realy a printing application even though you might be able to. To make a overflow text in indesign you first mark out a text box where you want it. then copy/paste the text into it. Make shure the document is the size you want to. If the text overflows trough the text box then a little red box with a plus sign in it will appear in the lower right corner of the box. Click it with the black crusor tool and it will let you drag out a new text box in which the text will contunue. Just keep adding pages and drag out textboxes untill you are done.

Maybe ask them if you could just convert it to a pdf format, then you dont need it to bring it all to Indesign.
(pdf maker is free i think)

I've converted the word doc into pdf but theres still a problem when its printed. Its been converted on my computer using software I found on google. I do need a good pdf converter because the word I'm using is 2002 and it doesn't have the pdf converter. If someone could link me to a pdf program that has customizeable options so I can stop it from compressing files that would be great! I've tried so many, the best I came across is express server pdf maker.

When I take my work to a printing shop they convert it to pdf for me aswel but theres a problem with the printing still..

I think its neccessary to convert my word doc into indesign to get the results I want.

Maybe I can drag and drop the pdf into indesign but everything will be merged so if it doesn't look right I won't be able to adjust.

im also having problems changing the graditent colour in indesign. Its always black and white and when I change the colors it changes the gradient to one color.
To get a gradient with a different colour I did it in photoshop and imported it.

Can someone tell me what the a-master and none option does

also is there a way to center objects in the middle of the screen? like you can in word position images
