how much are these programs and where can I get them?Corel Photopaint owns Photoshop... Photoshop is simply more widely supported because of it's popularity (Which is due to the marketing power of Adobe). For "from scratch" graphics, you can't beat Photopaint.

Adobe Photoshop CS is $649 US
Adobe Photoshop CS upgrade is $169 US
I think the Corel is $299 US
And the upgrade is $149 US
I prefer Photoshop, but that’s for two main reasons. One, I’m a long time user. I started using Photoshop around 1992 on a buddy’s Mac, and I’ve been hooked. The other reason is 3rd party books. I know with Photoshop you can go to your local Borders or Barnes and Noble and find books on how to use Photoshop. There may be books for Corel also, but I would be willing to bet that the volume of choices for Corel doesn’t compare to Photoshop. Heck, I have three Photoshop books that are the greatest references I could possibly have…well, until I found Faken…I this guy!
Though I like Photoshop, It’s not an easy program to learn. I may have started on Photoshop 1.0, I didn’t buy my first version until 5.0. I missed out on 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0, and the level of improvement and complexity between the two versions was huge. It wasn’t until 6.0 that I started to feel comfortable with the program, and it hasn’t been until recently while using 7.0 that I felt secure enough to display ANY of my work…and Faken has already teased me about my usage of lens flare .
I can’t believe that Corel is much easier to use, but if you were thinking of buying one, I would listen to Faken. I don’t think he’s on Corel’s payroll , and he won’t lead you wrong .

I wish I was smart enough to know how to write IRC scripts So, alas it was not I.Garz, was that you who was writing the IRC script awhile ago and we were troubleshooting it together?
I barely know how to turn on my Faken computer!
...A simple "No" seemed to blunt and impersonal...
