Hey everyone, I'm new here and don't have much in the way of a graphics background. My wife had some basic graphic design courses so she can muddle through Photoshop and Illustrator, but I'm pretty clueless.

So on to my problem. I have a logo that was created in Illustrator for my business that I want to use on my website. I am using a program called Net Objects Fusion to create my website. I like the program because it was free and is easy to use and I like the current design of my website. The problem I have is that it will only accept .jpeg or .gif files. I want to keep the smooth, crisp, clean look of the vector file which the jpeg does for me, but I want the transparent background which I get with a gif. Gif files get really pixelated and jpegs have a solid background. Is there a way to get the gif to have the clean look and the transparent background?

My business is just starting from the ground up and I have no money to pay someone to create my website. I know nothing about HTML. If I am stuck with no other options I may have to look into another website design software that will let me use a vector type file. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. But as I said, I like the look and layout of my website as it currently is, so I want to keep it pretty much the same if I go to a new program for the website.

I was reading through some forums to see if there was a quick answer to this, and what I found was that sometimes deselecting the "anti aliased" button will help with keeping edges sharp on a GIF.

With larger files, GIFs will sometimes end up looking pretty goofy.

There are also different anti aliasing options you can choose from, there is a great tutorial about dealing with sharp text in gifs here:

Kind of old, but I hope, helpful.

Hi ihocky2,

As per my knowledge, it’s possible to remove the background in a .gif and .png format. But the resolution of .gif is not that good. Do you replace the images in a .png format? Basically you have to save your “background less” images in a .png format and then change the file extension from .gif to .png in the website source code.
You should also share your web link here. Anyways, if your website is live then your hosting server will support the .png format. Either its free host or not.
For design, I have a suggestion; try out weebly[.]com. They are providing free online based website publishing services.
