I think you need to leave a bigger border between the bottom rightlight, and the edge of the blue bit. And maybe blur it more and turn down the opacity :)

remember to save the Image as a PNG-24 not a PNG-8. as an 8 the drop shadow get messed up. you might as well save it as a GIF if you do PNG 8.

that ad above this post is very insulting to me lmao! it read "your logo stinks, we can help" anyway, the bottom reflection gradient needs to be wider. looks like you forgot to stretch it.

Very good tut. I've modified only one step of it because i think it's more simple to do. In the step 11 in fact instead of using the eraser tool i've contracted the selection with the green circle after i've feather it a little then selected the layer created in step 9 ( the one with the radial gradient ) and then deleted.
Good work

Great tutorial man! Thanks :) Just a reminder to those that use this though that using this logo for your own personal work unrelated to P2L is a copyright violation and you will be persued. So it's all good to use this to make buttons, banners etc... but just don't use it as your new company logo ;)

Thanks again Jeepinator!

Faken

Faken can we use like the back of it and not the arrow part and change colors, because im making a new site and that would look awsome for a part of it (not the logo though) just wondering B)

lol well if someone rips it faken will beat them into the ground and probably follow up with a lawsuit.

Hoot: Thats a good idea. I never thought about feathering it. I couldnt get the desired effect just by contracting then deleting so i erased it to get the gradient effect on it. Looks like your way is MUCH easier as I took amny tried to get a good round edge on it. And the "orb" is so generic now i doubt it could be illegal to use the back of it. The logo is really the arrow. Other sites have the "orb" logo too.

Well, could I have your permission to redo it in Fireworks and possibly submit it to the tuts for Fireworks?

Awesome tutorial man. What I did was, to achieve a more realistic effect, I lowered the opacity on the gradient layers to roughly 15% and I added in the P2L gradient colors in the background along with a 15% opacity 10-pixel border colored white. Don't worry mods and admins, the file size of my image is only 122 KB so I have posted it here. Here is what I got for my final result:

Like you said, I saved it as a PNG-24 image by sending it into ImageReady and selecting from the optimized menu "PNG-24" then saving the optimized image. Once again, awesome tutorial, mate. This baby goes up on my website. LOL ;).

Cheers.
