I'd suggest to find a tutorial on using the Pen tool. Look in the Adobe Photoshop tutorial section at the hompage of this site. and clcik the Drawing category.

I ahve found this tutorial here:
http://s11.invisionf...p?showtopic=318
its for beginers

Also I don't think those curves are made out of the pen tool I think they are a thin triangle and then using a filter there can bend the shap. I seen a tutorial on this type of thing before but I don't knwo what the filter used it called.

You can do that, I also suggest learning how to use the pen tool and mastering it! It really isnt that hard if you get the hang of it.

Or you could do this:

1) Create an elipse, then add a layer mask to that layer
2) Position another elipse over top of it so that the first (masked) elipse is the right shape - crescent.
3) Ctrl-Click on the thumbnail for the 2nd elipse making sure the mask for the masked elipse is selected (active).
4) Then hit delete

It's quite a simple thing really, PM me if you need help or add me on MSN...

perfect example, except when you use the shear filter, dont go too far, just make one curve. then rotate it.

Yea but those aren't that great as they aren't vector.......

I still suggst the masking.....(or you could just use the moon and edit it with that special pointer.....)

It is vector as the elipse tool is vector...but I agree the first post is best - and yes he didn't ask for vector
