Good choice that should allow you a lot more flexibility then swift3D, looking foreward to it.Thanks again

I thought about it for years then I dabbled for a couple of years, but I've only been doing it seriously (if you can call it that) for about 7 months.I know I've already asked you this, but I never seen the answer, maybe I missed it I dunno. But do you mind me asking how long you've done stuff like this?? And, do you draw your stuff out on paper before hand, or just start in Swift?
I've normally got some sort of source material to model from. Weather it's a quick pencil sketch or full on blueprints, it's always good to have some sort of reference. Helps with the details in the long run
As for C4D, I've finally got round to getting my face in to it. After a few long tutorials on lighting and material/shaders building this the fourth render of what I finished with. I'm not used to all the lighting options after using swift for such a while. I've been like a kid in a sweet shop!! (a really big one with foot long chocolate bars! )
Anyway it took 3.5hrs to render on my G5 at the size you see here because of the volumetric lighting and the full on radiosity. Pretty bad ass stuff though!

unless cinema 4d is hiding some kind of "magical power" behind all those "abstract renders" and shotty modelling of course

That's what I thought... C4D totally surpases Swift in every way...

for 3d still's and advertising poeple dont much care what program it comes from. if it looks good do it.
maya, max and lightwave are used much more in movies ect because there is a larger group of poeple using them proffesionaly so companies get the one which is most widely used.
bah... you are so dam anti c4d..

"why would you move from swift 3d to cinema 4d?? thats like downgrading from windows xp to 98..."
"yeah but has no application in the real 3d work.."
That doesn't make any sense bud! Your saying swift is more viable from a commercial perspective than C4D?
and that C4D has no application in the real world???
I beg to differ, and so would these guys and gals....
