Dev-C++ is a good compiler \ you can use Borland compiler - Turbo C++ .
If you are professional and want to create professional programs , use Visual C++ 6.0 .

I use visual studio .net, you dont really have to pay for it either, you can goto Microsoft.com and say try free lab, it takes about 2minutes, t hey set you up with a server and you use their computer as if it was yours, need at least DSL to run smooth though...and you get 2 hours each session and you can renew it as many times as you want, just be sure to save it onto your computer by email or cntrl+C...or it will be lost and other people will find it. That may be too much work, so if you cant afford it just use Dev-C++, better then Borland turbo IMO

Yeah, DevC++ is good, I started with that, and still use it.
