Just re-designed my portfolio...

Let me know what you think of it. All feedback welcome :-)

Guess I'll break the ice then, huh?

Site looks nice! I love the textures you're used, and the hand-drawn ittybitty things here and there are a nice personalisation for your portfolio. Personally I'm not too keen on the header font you've used with an inner glow and whatnot, but that's purely personal taste.

The only tip I'd leave you is brighten up that gray background a little bit. Right now I think it makes the design look a little dull

Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated.

As for the grey BG. What would you suggest to brighten it up?

The design in general just looks really dark, nothing jumps out at me. I think it is a combination of a very dull gold color accompanying dark grey backgrounds. Although I'm not a fan of the gold color scheme, the background would be fine if your content (for the main page, as an example, the "GeorgeOrsmand Online Portfolio" header) was brighter than the background. That way, instead of blending in, the stuff you're trying to show off really comes off the page. When you go to the portfolio page, the thumbnails really shine, which is good (though I'd like to see bigger thumbnails!). A part of me really wishes the navigation links at the top were white, with a lighter gold hover color... Overall though, good direction. Just some stuff to work on.

Thanks for the feedback Mark, I do understand whatyou are saying about the content being brighter then the background. I will experiment a bit and see how it looks.

I have been debating about the top navigation being white or a shade off white. I think i'll go ahead with that.

Again, thankyou. All very much appreciated.

George
