Wats the purpose of layer masking and if i hide it, edit the stuff under it and then unhide it will it screw up the temp????

Layer masking is just kind of a neat effect you can use in flash to create kind of a window to look at what's underneath it.

Like if you have a circle masking a building or something underneath and then tween that circle around it will be kind of like a spotlight. They can get immensely complicated too and I don't know all the possibilities yet but it's cool.

Also I don't know what you mean about screwing up a 'temp' but hiding/unhiding anything doesn't really hurt anything.
