Modifying the Skin HTML

Now I will teach you how to edit the template HTML. This is very easy, once you learn how IPB does it and where each template bit is located. It will take time to find the template bits at first, but you will soon pick it up.

If you go back to the Look & Feel home page, you will see your skin name again. Press on the drop down menu, and select Edit Template HTML.. as shown below.



You will now see a window, something like this:



This is the wonders of IPB, the HTML editor. You will see lots of sections, click on one and see what it does. Its pretty amazing! In this tutorial, I will show you how to edit the board header.

So go:

All Global HTML > global_board_header

A text editor will then appear above, with the contents of global_board_header in. This is where you can edit the HTML. That's all there is to modifying the template HTML. In each category, there is different sections for you to edit. By editing the HTML and CSS you have nearly created your own skin!
