7308 views Before we start Just so no one asks the font im using is here in this tutorial pack which is attached to the tutorial, so are all the other files you need to complete this tutorial. File Download: Slick 3d Tutorial We are going to be creating some slick 3d text like the image below shows. To begin with you need to open Adobe Photoshop and make a new image 500 x 250 pixels. Select the paint bucket tool and change your foreground color to #07263D and color the background layer in this color. Now we want to write some text, change your foreground pallets color to #041826 and select the text tool. You want to have the font bar set up like this. So you should have something like this now We're going to use some complex layer effects to turn this into the finished product, unfortunatly its hard to give you the exact values for the custom contours I'm using however you can get the style from the .psd in the tutorial pack. Now for the layer effects, I'm starting with the drop shadow which gives this outline. The settings are the following Next we want a bevel and emboss to give the text that 3d effect. The effect for that is here In case you can 't read it the shadow modes color is #0C2539, Now we are going to give the text a tight dark outline so to help give it more depth. To do this we need to use the following settings. The contour for this setting is the y = x or a U shape. Now this looks pretty cool at the moment no? But for my last trick (setting) I'm adding a satin. Which gives us the final image. To do this add the following settings. Don't forget about the download, you need the font and the contours off the .psd file :) File Download: Slick 3d Tutorial Arutha |
