Windows XP
First of all, open Windows Media Player 11, and then put a CD into your computer so that you can rip songs to different file formats! Now that you've done that, press Ctrl+M so that the Classic Menu bar appears like so:
Now click on Tools, and then click on Options. A box should appear with tabs at the top. Click on the Rip Music tab. Now by where it says Rip Settings, and where it says Format, you can choose what format you want your ripped music to be like so:
The file types that Windows Media Player 11 will let you rip your music to are:

  • Windows Media Audio
  •
  • Windows Media Audio Pro
  •
  • Windows Media Audio (Variable bit rate)
  •
  • Windows Media Audio Lossless
  •
  • MP3
  •
  • WAV (Lossless)
