whenever i want to save a scene, i can only save it as an mb, which only MAYA can open. How can i save it as an image? or a mov. file?

i know its a dumb question but ive read everything and i havent figured it out yet.

I'm assuming you are talking about File->save as option :hi:

Did you try rendering your scene? I'm guessing you get the option save as image once you render your scene.

Are you using the personal learning edition?

If so, check this link http://www.alias.com...oductId=1900003

The Maya Personal Learning Edition restricts users to non-commercial applications through the display of a watermark on images as well as through the use of a special non-commercial file format.

Hmm well, in the render globals box, select maya software, in the file out put or whatever it's called select the format you want, if it's an animation use batch render, you CAN'T save a 3D file as a .mov, but you can export as different files such as OBJ's that most all 3D programs can open file>export all.
